The Tennessee Supreme Court denied a former East Tennessee priest's appeal to get a sexual abuse conviction thrown out.

In November 2011, a judge sentenced former priest William Casey to 30 years in prison after a jury convicted him of sexually molesting a teenage boy between 1978 and 1980.

Casey wanted the conviction thrown out because he said too much time had passed between the crime and the trial.

Casey admitted to having a sexual relationship with Warren Tucker and other victims.

The court's decision is final.
