LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — UPDATE (10 a.m.): The Loudon County Sheriff's Office and the Tennessee Highway Patrol troopers were on the scene of a crash involving a pedestrian on I-40 West near Watt Road.
A report from THP said a car was traveling on I-40 West when a pedestrian stepped in the car's lane of travel. The incident caused traffic to back up over four miles, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.
The severity of the pedestrian's injury was not reported. The person driving the car was not injured, according to the report.
