KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Mother's Day is coming up fast, and Ijams Nature Center has visitors covered.
Ijams will be hosting a "Jazz at Ijams" event for Mother's Day on May 12, which will be full of live music, dancing and the arts.
"It's Mother's Day… bring Mom! Pack a picnic blanket (or lawn chair) and enjoy an afternoon of live hot jazz, dancing, flow arts, live art and international cuisine," Ijams said.
The event will run from 3:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., kicking off with Brent Thompson with the Jazz Pioneers at 4 p.m. followed by a yoga session at 5 p.m.
After that, the jazz band Swingbooty will hit the stage with special guests: Knox K-Pop Dancers. The band will perform at 5:15 p.m.
The event will end with an art auction at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets for the event, starting at $10, can be bought online or at the door. Ijams said no outside alcohol would be allowed but can be bought inside the center.
