KFD: Worker at Knoxville food plant shocked

KFD was called to Reily Foods about 11:45 a.m.

Knoxville — A maintenance worker at a West Knoxville plant was taken to University of Tennessee Medical Center on Wednesday morning after suffering electrical shock, authorities said.

The person's name and condition were not available.

The incident happened about 11:45 a.m. Wednesday at Reily Foods, 3434 Mynatt Ave., according to the Knoxville Fire Department.

First responders at the scene found a maintenance employee had suffered a shock while working on an electrical wastewater pump in the back exterior of the building, according to KFD Capt. D.J. Corcoran.

Brands sold under the Reily Foods name include JFG Coffee. Reily's headquarters are in New Orleans.
