Last of controversial signs torn down on former Houston estate

<Controversial signs that once sat on property belonging to Rocky and Leon Houston were completely removed Saturday.In August, the two brothers put up posters that showed graphic crime scene photos of their 2006 shootout with a Roane County deputy near their home in Ten Mile.The deputy and his friend were killed, but the Houstons were never convicted.Since that incident, the Houstons have made the news repeatedly. In January, they were taken into custody to face federal firearms charges. And, Wednesday, they lost their father's estate to one of their former lawyers.James Logan took control of the estate of Clyde Houston, Rocky and Leon's late father, after he filed a lawsuit against the brothers claiming they owed him more than $100,000.He said removed the signs from the Houston's property because he said they did not reflect well on the legacy of Clyde Houston."Clyde Houston represents a lot more than what you see here," Logan said.In 2009, the Houston family signed a deed of trust on four tracts of land to help cover Logan's attorney fees. He eventually bought three tracts in a foreclosure sale. Logan told 10News he plans to eventually hand over the 100+ acres of Clyde Houston's farm and land he now controls to Houston's daughters. "I just want to make sure the property goes to his daughters as Clyde expressed in his will," he said. "We believe that the will existed even though people have not brought it forward."As for Leon and Rocky, their latest trial dates are set for March 25 and March 26 respectively.<
