KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Record Store Day is returning on April 20 this year, bringing together music enthusiasts and record aficionados to celebrate independently-owned storefronts.
Lost and Found Records in North Knoxville is hoping to bring together the community for live performances and tons of fun starting at 10 a.m. A local radio station will give away prizes all day, including two tickets to the Southern Skies Music and Whiskey Festival. It will also have exclusive releases for Record Store Day as well as free hot dogs and beverages.
The store said on social media that it spent several days leading up to Record Store Day stocking up and getting ready for the party.
Live performances will be by the Sidewalk Dandelions, Black Atticus, The Dirty Gospel and more, according to social media.
Record Store Day is meant to be a large gathering of independent record store owners and employees as a way to celebrate the culture surrounding the storefronts. The first one was celebrated on April 19, 2008, and it has since grown into a worldwide celebration.
