Sevier County Public Library receives $200,000 state grant for Kodak Branch Libary project

The money is meant to help pay for a new 11,000-square-foot library in Sevier County.

KODAK, Tenn. — State leaders were in Sevier County on Friday to give the library system there a state grant helping pay for the construction of a new library facility in Kodak.

Tre Hargett, the Secretary of State, was there with Rep. Andrew Farmer (R - Sevierville) to present the grant for the Sevier County Public Library System. It was for $200,000 and is meant to help pay for the Kodak Branch Library project.

The project will eventually result in an 11,000-square-foot library facility in Sevier County. The Kodak Branch Library will provide 2,000 square feet of meeting space, as well as new space to help meet the community's technological needs. There will also be a dedicated children's area to help support young learners in Sevier County.

“Libraries are an important hub for their communities, and the new Kodak Branch Library will increase and modernize resources for the citizens of Sevier County,” said Hargett. “I am pleased this investment and this new facility will ensure current and future generations have access to significant library services within their community.”
