LCPD: 35-year-old woman stabbed to death in Lenoir City apartment complex

According to LCPD, Ciara Long was found dead in a common area of the complex after being stabbed multiple times.

LENOIR CITY, Tenn. — According to the Lenoir City Police Department, multiple stab wounds led to the death of a woman in the common area of an apartment complex.

LCPD responded to a call around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 23 about a stabbing at an apartment complex in Lenoir City. After arriving at the complex near Pearl Drive, officers found a dead woman in a common area just outside her own unit.

According to LCPD, investigators along with three Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents responded to the location as well. Many witnesses were interviewed on the scene after requests from Attorney General Russel Johnson and LCPD Chief Don White.

LCPD said that the victim has been identified as 35-year-old Ciara Long and that after an investigation in which police examined posts on her social media account, her boyfriend, Daniel Stinnett, was the man who stabbed her.

According to LCPD, Stinnett has been taken into custody and charged with the first-degree murder of Long. Although initially being held without bond, his preliminary hearing along with a review of the bond status was scheduled for his arraignment on Feb. 26.
