Small fire reported at Amazon facility in Maryville, no injuries reported

The fire was reported around a month after a separate fire was reported at an Amazon facility in Alcoa.

MARYVILLE, Tenn. — Amazon said a small fire in an electrical room at its Maryville Sortation Center on Thursday resulted in no injuries. A full statement from the company is available below.

“Last night, our Maryville Sortation Center experienced an isolated fire in the electrical room. We’re grateful that no one was injured during this incident and for the quick response of the Maryville City Fire Department.”

The fire was reported around a month after a fire at Amazon's separate Alcoa facility. No injuries were reported in that fire either, and the company said it started on the third floor of the facility, where packages were kept.

Additional information, such as the cause of the fire at the Maryville location, was not immediately available.
