Mavis Staples, Willie Nelson, Chris Stapleton and others to salute Dolly Parton

Dolly will have a star-studded line up saluting her as MusiCares' 2019 Person of the Year!

Mavis Staples, Willie Nelson, Vince Gill, Kacey Musgraves, Don Henley and Linda Perry have been added to the lineup of performers who will pay tribute to Dolly Parton when she is honored as MusiCares' 2019 Person of the Year in February.

These artists join previously announced performers Chris Stapleton, Norah Jones, Pink, Leon Bridges, Lauren Daigle, Mark Ronson and Shawn Mendes.

MusiCares, the charitable arm of the Recording Academy, provides assistance to members of the music community in times of financial, medical and personal need.

Prior Person of the Year honorees include Carole King, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and Stevie Wonder, among others.

When Parton was announced as the 2019 Person of the Year in September, Recording Academy President and CEO Neil Portnow praised her trailblazing career and indelible music as well as her philanthropic efforts, which range from the creation of the Imagination Library, which has provided more than 100 million books to children from birth to age 5, to relief efforts following the 2016 Great Smoky Mountain wildfires.

She will officially receive the award at a MusiCares gala in Los Angeles on Feb. 8, two days before the 61st Grammy Awards.

"I am so excited and humbled to be honored as MusiCares Person of the Year,” said Parton in a September press release. “It's even more special knowing the gala benefits music people in need. I can't wait to hear all of the great artists singing my music.”
