A Nashville Predators fan is sending a message to Preds Nation – be careful when buying your game tickets.

Barry Smith went online searching Craigslist for Predators playoff tickets.

He found a post by a woman named Stacy selling four tickets in the second row of Section 119. The ticket price is $200 each, but the seller said it’s negotiable.

“They looked legitimate to me, so I went ahead and suckered for it. I bought two,” said Smith.

He was then given instructions on how to pay.

“She said ‘OK, we have to buy on the Zell pay app,’ which I have never heard of,” said Smith. “I went right ahead and she said ‘as soon as you buy them, send me a screen shot and I’ll give you the link to the tickets.’ So we went down to Bridgestone and no link. No link. No link.”

Smith tried to text Stacey to no avail. Our sister station in Nashville - News4 - attempted to call the number and got a call rejected message.

“It was a gift for my daughter and she was all excited,” said Smith. “I was all excited, and then the excitement turned to nothing.”

Smith has contacted his bank and an investigation is underway.

He said if you’re looking to buy tickets, buy from someone who is a season ticket holder.
