TBI identifies victim in Rocky Top building fire

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said the investigation into the cause of the fire remains active and ongoing.

ROCKY TOP, Tenn. — Update (1/26): 

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has identified the person who died after a fire on Main Street in Rocky Top.

Danny Cecil Park was found dead inside the building, according to the TBI.

One person is dead after a structure fire in a building that had both business and residential space in Rocky Top Tuesday morning, according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. 

The TBI said the fire happened in the 300 block of South Main Street. The Anderson County Sheriff's Department said dispatch first received a call about the fire around 3:57 a.m.

Rocky Top Police Chief John Thomas told WBIR crews it's estimated that eight people were inside the building when the fire started. At least five of those eight people lived in the building.

ACSO said Rocky Top Police and Fire Department were working on the fire. Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents also were on the scene.

Thomas said the American Red Cross and multiple other agencies are coming to assist those displaced by the fire.
