Overnight email leads to police response to Congressman Tim Burchett's home

The congressman and his wife were not at home at the time, according to Burchett's chief of staff.

KNOX COUNTY, Tenn. — Saturday night, an email received by multiple people led to police presence at Representative Tim Burchett's home.

10News learned from Representative Burchett's Chief of Staff, Michael Grider, that deputies with the Knox County Sheriff's Office responded after an email had gone out to a few dozen people, including some county commissioners.

That email stated something had occurred at an address in Knox County. When authorities were dispatched, they realized it was the representative's home. 

Representative Burchett and his wife were not at home at the time, according to Grider and KCSO.
