Clinton, TN — Luke has a very special bond with Clinton Police Officer Mark Pack.
They met when Officer Pack was the Student Resource Officer at Luke's school and they have been inseparable ever since.
“It doesn't matter where I’m at or where he’s at, whenever we see each other we’ve always got to give each other a hug," said Pack.
Luke was born with seven different heart defects and has spent a lot of time in the hospital.
He may have just turned five but his dream is to be a police officer, just like his hero, Officer Pack.
Jessie Lough, Luke's dad, says that he's thankful for the bond that has developed between the two unlikely friends.
“Mark, Officer Pack, is very special. We love him to death… And he has made a huge impact on Luke’s life,” Lough said.
Officer Pack goes above and beyond to make Luke feel special.
He organized a birthday party for Luke and made him an honorary police officer for the day.
Their bond helps keep Luke going on the good days and bad.
And for Officer Pack, the feelings are mutual.
“He lights up my day! He’s the bright spot of my day.”
