Swapping fish tales with Bill Williams, Ken Schwall and Lion "Jam" Ferguson

Fishing is a popular hobby for many here in East Tennessee. For Lionel Ferguson, it's a chance to get out on the water and enjoy some quiet time. He recently caught a record Crappie at a pond in Loudon County.

Lenoir City, TENN. — Lionel "Jam" Ferguson was introduced to fishing by his uncle.

It was an introduction that became not just a hobby but a way of life.

In May of 2018, Ferguson, who lives in Philadelphia, caught a record setting 5 pounds and 7.68 ounce black crappie in a pond in rural Loudon County; his catch outweighed Tennessee's current state record of 4 pounds, 4 ounces.

Ferguson will appear in TWRA's Tennessee Wildlife Magazine.

Ferguson enjoys spending time fishing alone and with his family. Recently, this proud father joined WBIR legends, and fellow anglers Bill Williams and Ken Schwall to do some fishing and talking about fishing at Lenoir City Park.
