TDOT crews to start patching potholes across East Tennessee Tuesday morning

Crews will be working in several different East Tennessee counties to patch potholes as the roads thaw from a winter storm.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Transportation said drivers in East Tennessee should be aware of crews working to patch potholes across East Tennessee starting Tuesday morning.

On Jan. 23, crews will start repairing potholes as they thaw from a severe winter storm that brought thick sheets of ice and several inches of snow to the region. Crews will work in some specific areas, listed below.

  • I-640 East at Rutledge Pike in Knox County
  • I-40 in Loudon County
  • I-40 in Roane County
  • I-75 in Campbell County
  • SR 63 from Harrogate to LaFollette
  • Various state routes in Hancock, Hamblen, Hawkins and Greene Counties

TDOT said work will be done depending on weather conditions. Motorists should also expect delays and use caution on the roads while crews work.

Motorists traveling on East Tennessee interstates and state routes should be aware of upcoming road construction...
