Darius Rucker arrested on minor drug charges in Tennessee

The "Wagon Wheel" singer is facing three misdemeanor charges.

FRANKLIN, Tenn. — Darius Rucker was arrested on minor drug charges in Tennessee on Thursday. 

The Grammy-winning country singer and Hootie & the Blowfish member was arrested in Williamson County for simple possession and casual exchange of a controlled substance, and a vehicle registration violation, according to the Williamson County Sheriff's Office. Officials did not release additional details. 

The three charges are all misdemeanors. 

Rucker posted a $10,500 bond and was released. 

“Darius Rucker is fully cooperating with authorities related to misdemeanor charges,” Rucker’s attorney said in a statement to media outlets.

The "Wagon Wheel" singer was recently honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Dec. 4, 2023. 

He is set to go on tour with Hootie & the Blowfish this summer, the band's first tour since 2019. His most recent album, "Carolyn's Boy," came out in October 2023.
