WASHINGTON — Marvel's latest trailer for "Deadpool & Wolverine" gave fans a full look at Hugh Jackman's return to the claws.

The studio released the first official trailer on Monday packed with plenty of easter eggs, over-the-top action sequences and a peek at the big bad. For years, fans of the clawed X-Men have awaited Jackman's reprisal as Wolverine, who was last seen in 2017's "Logan."

In Monday's trailer, Ryan Reynold's Deadpool spots Wolverine at a bar and aggressively tries to recruit him for a mission to save the world.

"I'm about to lose everything I've ever cared about." Deadpool pleads to Wolverine during the trailer.

Wolverine pushes back at Deadpool's request, prompting a bloody battle between the comic book frenemies.

The trailer teases to fans that this Wolverine might not be from the same timeline previously displayed on the big screen.

"This Wolverine let down his entire world," a Time Variance Authority agent says in the trailer.

Despite their differences, the pair appear to team up for an epic mission full of swords, guns and even some magic portals.

The R-rated superhero film, which comes six years after the release of the last installment, is the first official inclusion of Deadpool in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Eagle-eyed fans can even spot Ant-Man's helmet during the trailer -- possibly alluding to a cameo from the Marvel hero.

Wolverine, who is sporting his classic yellow and blue superhero suit from the comics for the first time, is also making his debut in the MCU.

In the years since "Deadpool 2," Disney successfully acquired 20th Century Fox, which owned the "X-Men" and "Deadpool" rights. The trailer appears to poke fun at the Fox to Disney jump as Reynolds and Jackman battle it out with the destroyed Fox logo in the background.

"Deadpool & Wolverine," directed by Shawn Levy, also stars Emma Corrin and Matthew Macfadyen. It is slated to hit theaters on July 26, 2024.
