KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee linebackers coach Brian Jean-Mary is leaving the Vols after three years on the UT coaching staff to rejoin the staff at Michigan.

Jean-Mary previously served as the linebackers coach at Michigan for the 2020 season before joining the coaching staff at Tennessee before the 2021 season.

Jean-Mary's coaching background spans over two decades. He began as a graduate assistant at Louisville in 2000 and has served as a linebackers coach at Georgia Tech, Louisville, Texas and USF in addition to Michigan and Tennessee.

He returns to a Michigan team fresh off its first national title since 1997, as well as the departure of head coach Jim Harbaugh from the NFL. The Wolverines promoted offensive coordinator Sherrone Moore to head coach in January.
