Dean Curley becomes first freshman in Vol baseball history to hit three home runs in a single game

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On Tuesday night during Tennessee Baseball's 15-5 win over Kansas State, freshman Dean Curley made history by hitting three home runs in a single game inside Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The first-year infielder became just the sixth player in program history to reach this milestone. Curley is also the first freshman at UT to have three big swings and nine RBIs in a single game.

In the third inning, Curley knocked out a third-inning grand slam to make it a 5-0 game. He hit a three-RBI homer in the bottom of the fourth and a two-RBI big swing in the bottom of the sixth.

Curley has six homers among his first eight career hits. Tennessee had six home runs on the day in the win against Kansas State.

Next up, Tennessee takes on Southern Indiana at Lindsey Nelson Stadium on March 6. The game starts at 6 p.m.
