South-Doyle boys' soccer wins first-ever state championship

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — South-Doyle boys' soccer won their first state championship in program history on Friday in Murfreesboro.

They beat Greeneville 2-1. South-Doyle fell behind 1-0 early in the game.

Jude Straussfogel tied it up in the second half and then scored on a penalty kick to give them the 2-1 lead, which would end up being the final score.

It was their first appearance in a state title game as well.
