KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — On Saturday night, Tennessee women’s basketball coach Kim Caldwell got her first commit when Alyssa Latham announced on social media she would become a member of the Lady Vol family.

The former Syracuse forward entered the transfer portal after her freshman season. She played in 32 games and started in 26 in her true freshman season.

Latham averaged 8.6 points and led the Orange in rebounds, averaging 7.0 per game. She was also on the ACC All-Freshman team.

The Glenwood, Illinois native visited Tennessee from April 18-19. She was spotted at a Tennessee softball game with Caldwell and other Lady Vols during the visit. Latham committed just two days later, on April 20th.

After losing Karoline Striplin to the transfer portal, Jillian Hollingshead was the only remaining true forward on the team. So, the addition of Latham will highly benefit the Lady Vols next season.
