The swimming U.S. Olympic Trials are where Olympians earn their spot on Team USA for the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The trials begin on Sunday, June 26 and run through July 3 with live coverage on NBC each night.
Davis Tarwater grew up in Knoxville, swam at Michigan has competed at four Olympic Trials and won a gold medal at the 2012 London games.

About 40 swimmers with Knoxville connections are expected to compete at the trials.
