Three Knoxville athletes are Atlanta-bound for Olympic Marathon Trials

Wish them luck at a special send-off party Monday night.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Elite runners from around the country have their sights set on Atlanta to compete in Saturday’s Women’s Olympic Marathon Trials, including three qualifiers from Knoxville.

Beth Herndon, Katie Taylor and Gina Rouse all balance motherhood with marathon training.

To celebrate their accomplishments and wish them good luck, The Long Run and the Knoxville Track & Field Club are hosting a send-off celebration at the store on Sutherland Avenue.

All three Olympic hopefuls will be there to answer questions about training, racing and how they fit running into their busy schedules.

The free event is open to the public, but space is limited. You can reserve a spot HERE.

If you can’t make it to Atlanta to watch the Trials in person, The Long Run is also hosting a viewing party on Saturday from noon to 3 p.m. There will be $3 beers available for purchase.
