A few hours after Tennessee gave Tee Hodge his first Football Bowl Subdivision scholarship offer Saturday afternoon, he still was in disbelief over the news.
The Class of 2020 running back from nearby Maryville (Tenn.) High School recently had started to draw interest from the Vols. But after getting his first offers in April from Austin Peay and Chattanooga, he didn’t expect his visit Saturday for Tennessee’s camp to result in an early offer that would jump-start his recruitment.
“It’s definitely a dream come true,” said Hodge, who’s the nephew of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Randall Cobb, a former Kentucky standout who played at Alcoa (Tenn.) High School. “I mean, very excited. It’s my first big offer.
