KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Tennessee baseball is the top team in college baseball for the first time this season, rising to No. 1 in the latest D1 Baseball poll released Monday.
The Vols jumped from the No. 3 spot last week after winning a road series against Florida two games to one.
Previous No. 1 Texas A&M fell to No. 3 following a series loss against LSU, while No. 2 Arkansas dropped to No. 5 after losing a series against Kentucky.
Clemson is the new No. 2 team in the country, followed by No. 3 Texas A&M, No. 4 Kentucky and No. 5 Arkansas.
Tennessee will take its new ranking into a midweek clash against Queens University on Tuesday, May 7. The Vols will play a road series against Vanderbilt starting Friday, May 10.
