TDOT pausing interstate construction throughout the state during Easter weekend

Crews will stop construction beginning Thursday, March 28 at 6 p.m. through Monday, April 1 at 6 a.m.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Department of Transportation said it's pausing all interstate construction work during the upcoming Easter weekend. This comes in anticipation of increased holiday travel.

Crews will stop all road construction beginning Thursday, March 28 at 6 p.m. through Monday, April 1 at 6 a.m., according to TDOT.

Motorists could still encounter some long-term lane closures on construction projects. While lane closure activity will be stopped, some workers may be on-site in construction zones, TDOT said.

The department encourages motorists to be aware, especially in work zones. So far in 2024, there have already been 27 incidents involving drivers crashing into TDOT vehicles or equipment.
