Gusty winds and flooding possible with storms tonight into early Friday AM

A strong cold front moving through will bring potentially strong storms and heavy rainfall for East Tennessee overnight into early Friday morning.

A Flash Flood Warning was issued for Morgan County, Grainger County, Knox County, Campbell County, Hancock County, Anderson County, Claiborne County, Scott County and Union County until 2:30 a.m. on Friday.

A strong cold front will bring active showers and storms overnight into Friday morning, as well as gusty winds for the Mountains through early Friday AM.

Showers and thunderstorms will continue at times tonight into early Friday morning. Heavy rain and strong to isolated severe storms are possible. The greatest risk for strong to severe storms will be across the Cumberland Plateau region.

This sticks around overnight and will taper off around 5AM. Flooding could be an issue early Friday morning before the rain moves out of the region. Meanwhile, much colder temperatures return for Friday behind the cold front with highs in the 40s and 30s ... dress warmly!
