Strong winds, rain cause power outages, down trees in East Tennessee

Strong winds and rains moved into East Tennessee on Sunday night causing power outages and downing trees throughout multiple counties.

TENNESSEE, USA — Strong winds and rains moved into East Tennessee on Sunday night causing power outages and downing trees throughout multiple counties.

Campbell County

Dispatch said there have been several calls for trees down, mostly in the northern part of the county. 

There are No reports of trees down on homes, mostly on roads and several of them aren’t blocking or hindering traffic. 

Fentress County

Fentress County Dispatch said there were several reports of wind damage and trees down mostly in the northern part of the county. According to Volunteer Energy Cooperative, 3,611 people are without power in Fentress County, roughly 36.4% of its coverage area in the county.

Scott County

The Plateau Electric Cooperative said the county is experiencing widespread outages with trees down along with power lines.

It said crews are being dispatched at this time.

Scott County Dispatch said there are countywide reports of trees and power lines down.
