Crossville business to permanently close in March, 67 workers to be affected

Crossville Hardwoods LLC filed a WARN notice with the department on Jan. 24, and 67 workers may lose their jobs when the company closes.

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. — Dozens of workers in Crossville may lose their jobs after a company notified the state that it planned to close soon.

Crossville Hardwoods LLC filed an official WARN notice with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce on Jan. 24. The notice is required by federal law if large businesses plan to close, and is meant to give families and communities a warning that their jobs may soon be impacted.

The notice says the company plans to permanently close on March 23, with all separations complete by July 31. It said 67 workers will be impacted. It also said the workers were not represented by a collective bargaining agreement.

The Upper Cumberland Local Workforce Development Area rapid response team was notified about the closure and will coordinate services with the business and affected employees. The Mid-Cumberland Human Resource Agency will be responsible for overseeing the help offered to dislocated workers.

The WARN notice said anyone with questions about the closure can also reach out to the Dislocated Worker Unit by calling 615-253-6355.

Crossville Hardwoods makes hardwood flooring and hardwood lumber in Crossville and is a part of the Somerset Hardwood Flooring company, according to its social media page.
