MONROE COUNTY, Tenn. — Monroe County deputies arrested a man accused of trying to set a Sweetwater bar on fire.
It happened at the Black Bull Tavern on Old Highway 68 in Sweetwater in the early morning hours of April 10.
Monroe County Sheriff Tommy Jones said deputies responded to an attempted arson. They later identified and arrested the man with help from the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
The man was charged with arson.
"Deputies, Detectives, and TBI agents worked diligently to locate and apprehend the individual involved in the incident," Jones said. "Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Bomb & Arson Unit assisted with the investigation."
