KFD responds to house fire in North Knoxville, man uninjured

The Knoxville Fire Department said the fire is in the 2000 block of Cedar Lane.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Fire Department responded to a house fire in North Knoxville.

According to KFD, Knox County 911 received a call that a neighbor's house was on fire in the 2000 block of Cedar Lane, which is located across the street from Magnolia Square Apartment Homes.

After arriving on the scene, crews found smoke coming from the front of the house. KFD said they were met with a "very heavy amount of stockpiled items" which made putting out the fire that much more difficult and dangerous.

KFD said Cedar Lane was "completely closed" as crews worked to put out the fire. KFD said the fire was contained to the left side of the home. Crews said they had to cut holes in the home's walls to reach it.

A man was inside the home at the time. KFD said he was unharmed.

The American Red Cross also responded to provide assistance to the man inside the home.

The cause of the fire has not been determined at this time.
