Here are several impacted roads, road closures in Sevier County after severe storms

Officials want to remind you that if you see impacted roads, turn around and don't drown.

SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — The National Weather Service issued a Flood Warning for several East Tennessee counties Thursday morning after severe storms.

The first round of severe storms hit the East Tennessee region late Wednesday morning, bringing large hail and damages to several East Tennessee communities. The second round of storms started to impact the region at around 9 p.m., putting a few counties into Tornado Warnings.

NWS placed a Flood Advisory for Sevier until 10:15 a.m. The Sevier County EMA posted the following impacted roads as of 12 p.m.:

  • Ridge Road at Sevier Solid Waste - Flooded
  • Waldens Creek Road/Old Valley Road at Goose Gap Road - Flooded
  • River Divide Road - Flooded
  • 425 Wiley Oakley Road/520 Edgewood Drive - Mud slide
  • 5289 Henry Town Road - Impassable
  • Jones Cove Road at Highway 321 - Downed tree(s)
  • Russie Gap Road at Old Valley Road - Flooded
  • Goose Gap Road at Waldens Creek Road - Flooded
  • Boogertown Road at Upper Middle Creek Road - Passable
  • Oldham Creek Road/Shady Grove Road - Flooded
  • Headrick Lead/North Clear Fork Road - 1 lane passable

The Great Smoky Moutain National Park also announced a few road closures due to high water and downed trees. As of 1:20 p.m., they said Cades Cove Loop Road, Greenbrier Road and Cherokee Orchard Road are closed.

High waters have been reported in Pigeon Forge as well. As of 10:17 a.m., the Pigeon Forge Police Department said several roads were closed, including:

  • River Divide Road
  • The gates at Henderson Road bridge
  • Sharpe Hollow Road leading to Battle Hill Road

Other roads that are closed in Sevierville include: 

  • Snapp Road at Ernest McMahan Road 
  • Rivergate Drive
  • Burden Hill Road near Eastgate Road
