SEVIER COUNTY, Tenn. — The Jake Thomas Connector is now open to traffic in Pigeon Forge.

The connector is a 2-mile road that connects Jake Thomas Boulevard to Veterans Boulevard. The project consisted of grading, draining, construction of bridges and retaining walls, signals and paving, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation

The connector starts at the intersection of Jake Thomas Boulevard and Teaster Lane. It will give driver a more direct route from shopping, entertainment, Dollywood and its resorts. There are also numerous ADA-compliant ramps throughout the sidewalk to accommodate people with disabilities and bicyclists, TDOT said.

The connector will be walkable, as there will be a 5-foot sidewalk on both sides of the road.

Construction on the connector started in April 2022. It is expected to be completely finished in May 2024.
