Nourish Knoxville's Market Square Farmers Market kicks off summer season on Wednesday

"It's as fresh as you're gonna get. They know our family, they know our relationship, and they know we truly care about farming," said Logan Zavel.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Market Square Farmers Market celebrated its opening day on Wednesday, kicking off its summer season.

The opening of the market marked the start of the 21st year, with many vendors saying they were excited to connect with their customers and return to the downtown market.

"It's really cool that they know how we picked it when we picked it. Everything I had to sell today was picked this morning," said Logan Zavels, of Zavels Family Farms. "It's as fresh as you're gonna get. They know our family, they know our relationship, and they know we truly care about farming and want to keep it."

Nourish Knoxville's Market Square Farmers Market will take place every Wednesday and Saturday until the end of November.

"Everything at the Market Square Farmers Market is grown, raised, and made by our vendors within a 150-mile radius of Knoxville, Tennessee," said Nourish Knoxville.

Products at the market may vary by season but often include fresh fruits and vegetables, eggs, honey, baked goods and more.

More information about the market can be found on Nourish Knoxville's website.
