Soon after arriving, authorities said Sean Williams tried to kill himself and is now being held at a hospital, according to a press release from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Williams was originally scheduled to appear in federal court in Greeneville on Dec. 21.

Authorities said they did not know what he used to try to kill himself. They also said the incident was under investigation.

While at the hospital, Williams will guarded by deputies from the Blount County Sheriff's Office and the U.S. Marshals.

Specific information about Williams' condition and whether the suicide would impact his court date was not immediately available. This story will be updated when more information is available.
