Tennessee softball's SEC quarterfinal matchup against LSU delayed to 6 p.m.

The top-seeded Lady Vols were originally supposed to take on the Tigers at 11 a.m. in Auburn, but a weather delay pushed the start time to the evening.

AUBURN, Ala. — Tennessee softball now has their matchup set for the SEC Tournament quarterfinals.

The Lady Vols were set to take on the eighth-seeded Tigers at 11 a.m in Auburn, Ala. but that game was delayed to 6 p.m. due to weather. The game will be available to stream on Watch ESPN.

The Lady Vols are the 1 seed after claiming the SEC regular season title for a second straight season. They got a double bye to start the tournament in the quarterfinals. They will need to win three games in a row to claim back-to-back SEC Tournament titles.

LSU is the 8 seed and came from behind to beat 9-seed Alabama 3-2 in a 14-inning game. It was the longest game by innings in SEC Tournament history.

The two teams faced off this season in an SEC series in Knoxville. Tennessee won the series but LSU won a game.

The Lady Vols won Game 3-0, in which they scored all three runs in the fourth inning. Payton Gotshall pitched 6.1 innings, Karlyn Pickens pitched .2 innings and they didn't allow a run.

Tennessee lost Game 2, despite only allowing one run in a 1-0 loss. Pickens pitched a complete game.

In Game 3, UT won 3-0 again. They scored all six runs in the sixth inning. Pickens pitched 6.0 innings Gotshall pitched 1.0 and the two stifled the Tigers again for no runs.
