VFL Cameron Sutton released from Detroit Lions after domestic violence charges by Florida sheriff

Sutton is wanted for domestic battery by strangulation in Florida.

DETROIT — The Detroit Lions have released cornerback Cameron Sutton from the team after Florida authorities issued a warrant for his arrest.

The team issued a one-line statement about it to social media on Thursday.

According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office in Florida, the former Tennessee Vols football star is wanted for a domestic battery by strangulation charge.

Deputies shared a photo of the NFL star asking for help finding him. 

Sutton played for Tennessee between 2013 and 2016.
