KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The Knoxville Police Department said one person was sent to the University of Tennessee Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after a crash on Merchant Drive Saturday afternoon.
They said that an SUV and a motorcyclist were driving west on Merchant Drive before the SUV rear-ended the motorcycle and hit the motorcyclist near Merchants Center Boulevard. The person was then taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police originally asked drivers to find alternate routes, avoiding the area if possible.
