East Tennessee school closings and delays for Wednesday, Jan. 24

Several schools are calling off classes for yet another day.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Several East Tennessee schools announced another round of closures for Wednesday, Jan. 24 as ice continues to linger on sidewalks, back roads and neighborhood roads.

Driving conditions continued to improve Tuesday afternoon as temps climbed, but the lack of sunshine means that won't be enough to clear the thick ice and packed snow on back roads and neighborhood roads -- particularly in the rural areas of East Tennessee. The warming trend will continue to ramp up through the week.
