TVA releases waters from dams to make more room for rainwater

The TVA is releasing water from Cherokee, Douglas, Norris and Fontana Dams, among others.

Even after flooding swept through East Tennessee, the Tennessee Valley Authority said water levels are not anywhere near where they were during last February's flooding.

However, more rain is on the way Monday through Tuesday. So, the TVA started releasing water from its dams to make room for another round of rainfall. They said they are releasing water from dams from Cherokee, Douglas, Norris and Fontana dams, among others.

They also worked with the Army Corps of Engineers to manage the flows and impacts below the Kentucky Dam.
