RHEA COUNTY, Tenn. — In August 2022, the Pikeville Police Department responded to an overdose death call for service at a home on White Flats Road. That's where they found 27-year-old Hailey Green.

According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, Green died from an apparent overdose. An investigation later began with the PPD, TBI and the Office of the 12th Judicial District Attorney General.

During the investigation, authorities identified Kayla Tinsley as the suspect involved in the fentanyl distribution that led to Green's death.

On Monday, Tinsley was charged with one count of second-degree murder and three counts of possession of schedule II controlled substance for resale, TBI said. On Tuesday, she was arrested and booked into the Rhea County Jail on a $450,000 bond.
