Crash on Highway 93 leads to 10-year-old being airlifted to UT Medical Center

THP said that a tractor-trailer was traveling south on Hwy 93 when it failed to maintain its lane and hit a vehicle head-on.

GREENE COUNTY, Tenn. — A crash on Highway 93 in Greene County on Thursday morning sent a juvenile to the University of Tennessee Medical Center, according to a police report. Injuries are thought to be non-life-threatening.

Tennessee Highway Patrol said that a tractor-trailer was traveling south on Hwy 93 when it failed to maintain its lane and struck a vehicle head-on traveling north.

Police said that there was a 10-year-old passenger in the vehicle that was struck who was airlifted to UT Medical Center. The juvenile was wearing a seatbelt, according to police. The driver of the struck vehicle was injured as well.

Neither of the passengers in the tractor-trailer had injuries reported.

Charges are pending for the driver of the tractor-trailer.
