GCSO investigating after more than 100 cows reported missing in Grainger County

The owner reported 84 grown cows missing, as well as 43 calves.

GRAINGER COUNTY, Tenn. — More than 100 cows are missing from a farm in Grainger County, and the sheriff's office is searching for them.

The owner of the cows said on Thursday that 84 grown cows were missing as well as 43 calves. The owner said they were missing from a farm on Buffalo Springs Road, near Rutledge. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture also said it was helping the Grainger County Sheriff's Office investigate the missing cattle.

The owner of the cows said on social media that a $1,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Pictures shared on social media also showed some of the cows were tagged on the ear. The cows' colorations included black and brown fur.
