Keep your lightsaber and big shoes handy: 2024 Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival set for May 4

The festival will take place at the Townsend Visitors Center on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature guest speakers, live music and over 75 vendors.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Bigfoot sightings will soon to be the talk of the town with the fourth annual Smoky Mountain Bigfoot Festival on May 4.

The festival will take place at the Townsend Visitors Center at 7920 East Lamar Alexander Parkway on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and will feature guest speakers, live music, over 75 vendors and plenty of sasquatches roaming the mountains.

Some of the guest speakers at the event are listed below, along with descriptions of their work from organizers.

  • Ron Morehead – Adventurer, Researcher and Author
  • Russell Acord – Travel Channel's “Expedition Bigfoot”
  • Ronny LeBlanc – Travel Channel’s “Expedition Bigfoot”
  • Turtleman – Animal Planet’s “Call of the Wildman”
  • Buck, Huckleberry, Wild Bill, & Willy – Travel Channel’s Mountain Monsters
  • R. Scott Nelson – Crypto-Linguist
  • Diamond Jim Bordwine

The festival will also have live music by Solo Not Solo, SlashSquatch and BigToeven. Tickets start around $14.

This year will also feature a 5k race and a mile fun run, with those attending set to receive a swag bag full of Bigfoot-themed prizes. The entry fee for the race is $25, and includes free entry into the festival. 

In addition to the races, there will also be a VIB event for the "Very Important Believers" at the Smokies Stadium in Kodak. This event will take place the night before the festival, May 3, with tickets getting you entry to the baseball game, an exclusive shirt and access to the upcoming special guests for the festival. 

Tickets for the VIB event were sold out as of April 30.
