TDOT: Lanes reopened on I-40 West in Farragut near Everett Road after overturned tractor-trailer causes backups

The Tennessee Department of Transportation said the tractor-trailer overturned near Everett Road at around 8:21 p.m. Eastern Time Thursday.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — An overturned tractor-trailer closed most lanes of I-40 West in Farragut on Thursday while rain poured across the region, according to the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

It said the tractor-trailer overturned near Everett Road in Farragut at around 8:21 p.m. EDT. It also said eastbound traffic was backed up past Watt Road, to near the I-75 interchange. Westbound traffic was backed up near North Campbell Station Road at around 8:38 p.m.

Cameras near the crash showed cars driving on the shoulder past the crash and the truck stopped over all the lanes.

Additional information, such as whether any injuries were reported in the crash and the circumstances surrounding the crash, was not immediately available.
