KCS hosts back-to-school safety press conference

Knox County leaders hosted a conference to discuss safety in the upcoming school year.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Knox County leaders are hosting a press conference to address back-to-school safety ahead of the next school year. 

Superintendent Dr. Jon Rysewyk was joined by KCS Security Chief Jason Periard, Knox County Sheriff Tom Spanger, Knoxville Police Chief Paul Noel and members of the KCS leadership team to discuss school safety. Two or more board members may also be present.

The press conference was held on Thursday, Aug. 3 at 10 a.m. at South-Doyle High School, which is located at 2020 Tipton Station Rd.
